New evidence has emerged in the alleged fraud case against EFKA (Greece’s social security fund), in which Filippos Kampouris is among the accused — this time stemming from the testimonies of two well-known Greek singers, Alekos Zazopoullos and Kelly Kelekidou. The two artists were summoned by police to testify as witnesses after investigators discovered that they had been listed as insured employees through companies linked to the defendant, without their own knowledge of these registrations. According to STAR, the case of Alekos Zazopoullos is of particular interest: evidence presented shows that he appeared as an insured employee across three different companies during 2023 and 2024, despite the fact that his actual professional collaboration with Filippos Kampouris had been limited to an earlier period. For her part, Kelly Kelekidou described how her pay was processed during her performances at a nightclub on Syngrou Avenue, explaining why she had not noticed that the company name appearing on her bank payment documents differed from the name of the venue where she worked.
Filippos Kampouris: the collaboration with Zazopoullos and the three companies
According to what was presented in the report aired during STAR’s main evening news bulletin, Alekos Zazopoullos had collaborated with Filippos Kampouris for two months in 2022, performing at a nightclub in Tavros. The following year, discussions took place regarding a new professional engagement, but these never resulted in a confirmed agreement for performances. The singer had initially signed a hiring contract, but was subsequently informed by Kampouris that the collaboration would not proceed. Despite this outcome, records from the ERGANI employment registry revealed that the artist appeared as an insured employee — across three separate companies — in both 2023 and 2024, without, as he maintained, any knowledge of these insurance registrations or having received any payment from them. His testimony is considered particularly significant for the investigation, as it highlights the discrepancy between the professional collaboration he acknowledges and the insurance records found in his name.
In his testimony, Alekos Zazopoullos stated: “The offer to perform at the nightclub came from Filippos Kampouris — I don’t know exactly what role he had in the business, but I know he had responsibilities related to its operation. As for the insurance registrations with the other three companies, I was not aware that I was listed as insured with them, nor have I received any related payment.”
Kelly Kelekidou’s testimony about her pay
The circumstances described in Kelly Kelekidou’s case are somewhat different. She worked professionally with Filippos Kampouris from November 2024 through January 2025, performing at a nightclub on Syngrou Avenue and receiving her wages via bank transfer. However, the company name appearing on her payslips differed from the commercial name of the venue where she was working. As she explained to authorities, she had not considered this to be unusual, since she assumed that the company making the payments was the same entity managing the nightclub. The singer clarified that she had not been employed by any other business during that period — which is why she had naturally associated the company name on her payslip with her sole professional engagement.
“My pay was processed through bank transfer and the payslip referenced the company you are referring to. At the time, I assumed it was the venue where I was performing, since it was the only company I had been hired by,” Kelly Kelekidou stated in her testimony.
Additional witness statements and the ongoing investigation
The testimonies of both artists form part of the broader investigation into alleged fraud against EFKA and tax evasion, in which Filippos Kampouris is among those charged. Authorities are examining the insurance registrations and corporate relationships that have emerged from the case evidence, with witness statements helping to cross-reference declared employment relationships against actual professional collaborations. Zazopoullos’s case concerns insurance registrations across three companies that he says he was entirely unaware of, while Kelekidou’s case raises questions about the different corporate entity through which her salary was paid. According to information that has been made public, singers Sotis Volanis and Giannis Kapsalis have also given testimony in connection with the same case. It should be noted that these references form part of an ongoing investigation and do not in themselves constitute a finding of criminal liability for any of the individuals involved.
