Cooler temperatures and rainfall are on the way starting Sunday, though Theodoros Kolydas notes that “summer hasn’t handed over the keys just yet.” In a recent post, the veteran meteorologist and former president of the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) forecasts that from Sunday onward, rainfall is expected — mainly across the northwestern and northern regions of the country — accompanied by a gradual drop in temperatures. Kolydas emphasizes that despite the change in conditions, “summer isn’t surrendering yet, but autumn is beginning to knock on the door.”

“We had already given you a heads-up at the start of the month, through the sub-seasonal weather trend, about the shift expected around mid-September.
From Sunday, blue returns to the maps — both in temperature and precipitation — bringing more coolness and rain, particularly to the northwestern and northern parts of the country.
