Members of the Fire Investigation Units (AKAEE) of the Hellenic Fire Corps have arrested an 80-year-old man who confessed to deliberately starting a fire — using dry grass — in Dipotamos, Kavala, on Sunday afternoon (16/08).

Following an immediate investigation into the incident, the 80-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto by officers of the Kavala Fire Investigation Unit on charges of deliberate arson. The suspect has already confessed to the act and is expected to be brought before the competent public prosecutor later the same day.
