A new development has emerged in the case of the brazen car theft from the Glyfada Police Station, during which an unidentified suspect struck and injured a police officer while fleeing the scene. According to reports, the vehicle was located at midnight on Wednesday (November 4th), on Dimokratias Avenue, near the Piraeus Municipal Theatre.
How the car was stolen from Glyfada police station
The recovered vehicle is the same car that was originally stolen on May 15th and subsequently located by police authorities, who had it towed and impounded at the Glyfada Police Station. However, just a few hours later, at approximately 3:30 a.m., an unidentified man appeared at the police station in possession of the car’s key.
The man managed to gain access to the vehicle and attempted to drive away. The officer on guard duty noticed his movements and tried to stop him. The suspect, however, refused to halt. He accelerated and struck the officer with the vehicle, leaving her with minor injuries, before fleeing the scene.
The injured officer was transported to the 401 General Military Hospital for medical treatment.
