A deeply moving farewell ceremony took place on Thursday afternoon (August 6) for Aristotle Damigos, the pilot and coordinator-translator who lost his life in the tragic collision of two firefighting helicopters over Psatha. More than 200 people gathered at the ceremony hall of the Ritsona Crematorium, including family members, relatives, friends, and colleagues from the Fire Service, all wishing to pay their respects and honor his memory.
The ceremony was conducted in an atmosphere of deep grief, with a priest presiding and a choir of cantors participating, in a solemn religious service dedicated to the deceased. During the farewell, relatives and fellow firefighters delivered eulogies, speaking about Aristotle Damigos’s character, integrity, and dedication to his work.
Wreaths were sent by the President of the Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas, Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Evangelos Tournas, Fire Service Chief Lieutenant General Theodoros Vagias, Secretary General of Civil Protection Nikolaos Papaeustathiou, Secretary General for Natural Disaster Recovery Petros Kampouris, and others.
