Three wildfires that broke out in different parts of the country were brought under control following the swift mobilization of firefighting forces. The first fire broke out at around 6:30 PM in a low-vegetation area in the local community of Ergani, Rodopi. Firefighters responded rapidly, successfully containing the blaze and bringing the fire front under control. Shortly after, at 7:15 PM, a second fire erupted in a low-vegetation area in the Sofo district of Aspropyrgos. The fire was contained in less than an hour, preventing it from spreading further.

From the very first moment, 47 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, supported by 1 infantry unit from the 1st EMODE team and 19 fire trucks, while 2 helicopters were also mobilized for aerial firefighting operations.
Continuous drone footage throughout the wildfires
A third wildfire, which broke out in a low-vegetation area at the 520th kilometer of the PATHE highway, in the Aspros area of the Municipality of Paeonia in the Regional Unit of Kilkis, was also brought under control. In all three incidents, the timely response of firefighting forces contributed to the rapid containment of the fire fronts, with no further issues reported at this time.
Notably, throughout the duration of all three incidents, the National Coordination and Operations Center (ESKODIK) received continuous real-time footage from drones equipped with both optical and thermal cameras.
