With yet another video featuring Mrs. Chrysoula and Mr. George, the Greek Police is attempting to raise public awareness about telephone and online scams that primarily target elderly people. It is well known that fraudsters, posing as bank representatives or claiming family emergencies, often attempt to extract money from unsuspecting citizens.
The humorous police video aimed at educating elderly citizens
In the new video, filled with humor, Mrs. Chrysoula, who has previously appeared in similar police public service announcements, along with Mr. George, present terms that are now commonly used in our daily lives but remain unfamiliar to many elderly people, such as “phishing,” “scam,” and “spoofing.”
With her characteristic spontaneity, Mrs. Chrysoula comments at the beginning of the video that “many will watch it and few will understand it,” immediately setting the humorous tone of the spot. For his part, Mr. George, while advising citizens on how they can protect themselves from fraud, concludes meaningfully: “Are we yesterday’s people?”
The detailed message from Greek Police
“It doesn’t matter how they try to deceive you… what matters is that you don’t become a victim. In the following video, Mrs. Chrysoula and Mr. George tackle the most common (and most devious) methods of deception.
And you know what they do? They recognize them. They stop them. They don’t fall for them. It’s enough to be informed and careful.
-Never give out codes, PINs or personal information.
-Don’t rush when they ask you for money ‘urgently.’
-Talk to your children or grandchildren before making any move.
-If something seems strange to you… it’s definitely a scam.”
💡 Δεν έχει σημασία πώς θα προσπαθήσουν να σε εξαπατήσουν… το σημαντικό είναι να μην πέσεις θύμα.
