Within the next few days, the electronic platform for the DYPA Social Tourism program is expected to open, Tourism for All 2026 for vouchers up to €600 via digital card, with flexible use and no restrictions on accommodations throughout Greece. The launch of the process is now considered a matter of time, as the electronic platform for application submissions will open after the publication of the relevant decision in the Government Gazette. Interested parties will be able to submit their participation electronically, while the selection of beneficiaries is expected to be carried out again this year through electronic draw.
Beneficiaries will receive the subsidy amount via digital card, which will remain active throughout 2026. This gives beneficiaries the flexibility to choose when to travel, without time restrictions beyond the specified periods. The card can be used for accommodation anywhere in Greece, without geographical restrictions or commitments regarding the type of accommodation, enhancing freedom of choice.
DYPA deputy director on Social Tourism: “Another 30,000 of our fellow citizens will be added”
According to DYPA deputy director Vassilis Georgiadis, the increase of beneficiaries by an additional 30,000 has been “locked in.” As he revealed speaking to ERT, following collaboration between DYPA and the Ministry of Labor and Minister Niki Kerameos, a budget increase for the program is being implemented to include the first 30,000 reserve list candidates who were left out of the initial allocation.
“In addition to the 300,000 beneficiaries who have already received social tourism vouchers, another 30,000 of our fellow citizens will be added,” Mr. Georgiadis stated characteristically.
Accommodation selection
One of the main advantages of the program is that there is no list of partner businesses. Beneficiaries can choose any accommodation they wish, provided the business has the appropriate Activity Code Number and POS system.
This significantly broadens choices, allowing voucher use across a wide range of tourism businesses.
The subsidy amount varies according to family status and social characteristics of beneficiaries. The basic amount is €200 and applies to the largest category of beneficiaries.
The subsidy increases to €300 for unmarried or widowed persons with children, as well as married couples or civil union members with three or more children. This category also includes retirees from all funds with final pension decisions.
The amount reaches €400 for persons with 67% disability or higher, or those with children with corresponding disability percentages. The maximum amount of €600 is provided for disabled beneficiaries with 67% disability or higher who have declared three or more children.
It should be noted that beneficiaries are entitled to up to 6 nights in a tourist accommodation of their choice, with private contribution starting from €1 and not exceeding €12 per night, depending on accommodation characteristics (rental, 4-star or 5-star) and whether breakfast is included.
However, there is also a list of destinations where beneficiary contribution for accommodation is zero – in other words, accommodation is free.
Moreover, the number of nights one is entitled to stay there “increases” from 6 for the rest of Greece to 10 and 12 nights.
The list of destinations with zero contribution includes Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Rhodes, where those who secure vouchers can enjoy up to 10 nights completely free.
In accommodations in Northern Evia, Magnesia, Karditsa, Larissa, Trikala and Evros, the number of free nights increases to 12.
Besides accommodation in tourist facilities, ferry tickets are also subsidized. Beneficiary contribution amounts to 25%, while for persons with disabilities over 50%, ferry tickets are provided free of charge.
