“Greece is recording the fastest debt reduction in history,” emphasizes Kyriakos Pierrakakis through a social media post, a fact confirmed by Oxford Economics and Haver Analytics, as he highlights. “It’s our choice. The bill will not be passed on to the next generation,” added the Minister of National Economy and Finance, also sharing a relevant chart that depicts Greece’s progress regarding debt reduction.

Pierrakakis: “The Greek people didn’t just sweat to get here, they bled”
Meanwhile, Mr. Pierrakakis referred again to the issue of Greece’s debt reduction, as well as other progress recorded by the Greek economy, speaking on SKAI radio with Aris Portosalte.
“We talk about problems very intensely, because problems still exist. But abroad, when we are there, do you know what we hear about the Greek economy? That we are, based on objective data, a country with surpluses, a country with a growth rate double the European average, a country reducing its debt faster than any other in the world, and simultaneously a country ready to reach historic lows in unemployment. Soon, if we continue this way, we will have the lowest unemployment in our history. All these achievements, aren’t they conquests of the people listening to us? Because, you know, the Greek people didn’t just sweat to get here, they bled. The point is to keep the good things and continuously improve,” he stated characteristically.
