New evidence has come to light regarding the Finikounda case. Specifically, according to STAR’s report, the 68-year-old victim feared for his life and had requested a weapon. A friend of the 68-year-old stated characteristically that “the deceased has my weapon. He was afraid and asked me for it so he could sleep.” “Someone doesn’t come to shoot you over property,” the same friend of the 68-year-old argued.
Finikounda: Police searches at businessman’s stores where 22-year-old suspect worked
Last Monday, police officers conducted searches at the businessman’s stores in Athens where the 22-year-old remanded in custody for the murder worked, as well as at the camping site and house of the nephew of the 68-year-old who was murdered in Finikounda.
The police proceeded to confiscate two laptops, two tablets and mobile phones belonging to the nephew of the camping site owner, his partner and the businessman, as part of investigations conducted under orders from the examining magistrate.
Besides the search in Kolonaki, another team from the Criminal Investigation Directorate with support from Kalamata police conducted a search at the camping site and the victim’s nephew’s house. The nephew’s partner was called to Kalamata security, where she handed over her mobile phone.
It should be noted that the businessman is the first person the victim’s nephew contacted immediately after his uncle’s murder. Also, the businessman was the employer of the 22-year-old who has been arrested for the case.
