The Louvre found itself back in the spotlight about a month after the cinematic heist, this time not for stolen jewelry but for a prank by two Belgian TikTokers that raises questions about whether the museum’s security measures were truly tightened following the robbery. The viral influencers with the profile Neal & Senne, as shown in a video they posted, hung a painting with a frame depicting…themselves at “breathing distance” from the Mona Lisa. “With large pieces, it would have been impossible to get past security,” they explain in the video they published on Friday (14/11) on TikTok and Instagram.

Although they couldn’t hang the small painting directly next to the Mona Lisa, they managed to place it on a wall just a few meters away. It’s worth noting that they had previously passed the museum’s security checks.

“We went in an hour before closing, but visitors had to leave the room half an hour later. We hung the painting quickly. Impossible to put it on the Mona Lisa’s wall, there are too many guards, but it’s in the same room,” they reported.
A few minutes later, the prank was complete. The teenagers passed through security, crossed the corridors of the famous museum and completed their challenge, taking photos.

Not the first time Belgian TikTokers go viral
Users have seen their videos before when the tiktokers had previously managed to enter Munich’s Allianz Arena during the Champions League final after hiding for 27 hours in the toilets.
