The promotion of two very significant reforms in the justice sector was discussed the day before yesterday at Maximos Mansion, in the presence of the responsible minister, Giorgos Floridis, the deputy minister, Giannis Bougas, and the general secretary, Pelops Laskou. Present, beyond the prime minister of course, was also the Minister of State, Akis Skertsos.
Major justice interventions: Event with Kyriakos Mitsotakis and two new reforms coming
Specifically, one of these concerns the updating of provisions around inheritance law and the second the acceleration of criminal courts, following the model of provisions adopted for civil courts. These are two fronts that have been on the government leadership’s radar for some time, and now all involved parties believe the appropriate moment has come to immediately launch the relevant interventions.
You see, among other things, and against the backdrop of a series of cases that in many instances damaged – at least communicatively – the prestige of justice and became the subject of intense criticism from the entire opposition that questioned the institution’s independence, actions and initiatives that strengthen its prestige in citizens’ eyes became necessary.
In this direction and in order to further deconstruct this rhetoric, in early December, as parapolitika.gr reveals today, a special event will take place in the prime minister’s presence to provide a public accounting of the interventions that have been made during these six years of New Democracy governance in criminal codes, strengthening justice operations, and even courthouse facilities.
Simultaneously, in an effort to activate corresponding reflexes, an indirect but very clear comparison will be attempted with the much-discussed works and days in this sector during the Tsipras-Kammenos administration.
