A comprehensive confrontation between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Nikos Androylakis will take place today at 12 noon in the Greek Parliament, focusing on a current question about inflation and private debt that the leader of the main opposition has submitted to the prime minister. The discussion of the current question will take place during «Prime Minister’s Hour».
Mitsotakis & Androylakis clash in parliament over inflation and private debt
According to sources, Mr. Mitsotakis will acknowledge the existing problem with inflation, make references to the government’s efforts to reduce prices, and discuss tax reductions. The discussion will take place one day after announcements of 70,000 euro fines imposed on the market in October. For his part, the leader of the main opposition is expected to address the increased cost of living rates, deconstruct government efforts to combat inflation, and refer to PASOK’s proposal on private debt.
It should be noted that today will also be the first real crash test regarding the «time cutter» with the procedure lasting 58 to 59 minutes. We remind you that in the last discussion at the level of political leaders, on foreign policy, as the Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis had mentioned in conversation with parliamentary correspondents, every previous discussion record with this topic was broken and the procedure lasted eight hours and 35 minutes. The previous record for foreign policy discussion was seven hours and 45 minutes. Mr. Kaklamanis added that one political leader exceeded their time by 137% (referring to Zoe Konstantopoulou), while the most compliant were Dimitris Koutsoumbas, Alexis Charitsis, and then Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
