Chaos erupted on a flight from Krakow to Bristol on Tuesday (11/11), when a drunk British passenger refused to sit during the aircraft’s landing, forcing the pilot to circle above Bristol Airport. Police were notified about the incident, with the man attacking the officers. According to the Daily Mail, video footage taken by fellow passenger Kacper Bujak shows the man swearing, fighting with cabin crew, and struggling with security personnel who were trying to restrain him.
At one point, he even turns toward Bujak and shows him the middle finger. The confrontation escalated as the man began calling security staff members “scum” while they handcuffed him.
Passengers asked him to calm down because there were children on the flight. As landing approached, he refused to comply with repeated orders to sit down, forcing the pilot to abandon the airport approach.
“As soon as he had his drink, he started causing trouble”
“The man was loud for most of the flight,” Bujak said. “As soon as he had his drink, he started causing trouble,” he added.
The video ends as passengers disembark, but Bujak said it took police over an hour to remove the man, delaying the aircraft’s next scheduled departure to Krakow.
“The crew on the Krakow to Bristol flight (November 11) called police for assistance following disruptive behavior by a passenger. Police were waiting for the aircraft upon arrival in Bristol and removed the disruptive passenger. Ryanair operates a zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive passenger behavior and will continue to take decisive action, ensuring all passengers and crew travel in a respectful, stress-free environment,” a company spokesperson stated.
