An alarm was raised earlier today, Thursday (13/11) in Patras, at Voud Square, as a 23-year-old man was barricaded on an apartment building balcony, who, according to reports, was holding a knife.
According to tempo24.news, the young man had escaped from the Psychiatric Clinic at Rio Hospital and after negotiations by a police negotiator from the Hellenic Police, he safely exited the apartment.
According to the same reports, the young man had been arrested two days earlier, following an incident during which he allegedly attempted to grab a police officer’s weapon. After his arrest, he had been transferred to the Psychiatric Clinic at Rio Hospital, from where he managed to escape.
The young man, after negotiations by the police negotiator, safely exited the apartment and was escorted by police officers back to the Rio Psychiatric Clinic. Strong police forces were deployed to the scene.
