When asked if something new in politics can emerge from the old, Antonis Samaras replied that this depends not on age, but on the “non-corruption of the soul,” citing examples of leaders such as Papagos, Karamanlis, Reagan and Trump.
Closing his interview, he left open the possibility of creating a new party, stating that he is “weighing the situation” and will decide with composure, emphasizing that his motivation is national duty and responsibility toward the Greek people.
Samaras: “I have pain for my child, I’m not a machine”
“I’ve gotten through the difficult times. I have achieved all positions, with my rights and wrongs. My motivation is not personal ambitions and inside me I have the pain for my child, I’m not a machine. But I also have within me the sense of national duty and I will make my decisions with composure and I will tell them to the only one I owe them to, to the only ally, to the Greek people,” he emphasized characteristically.
