As government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced, following the bloody incident in Vorizia, Heraklion, Crete, “in a few days we will have announcements from the Prime Minister regarding gun possession.” Mr. Marinakis, speaking to Mega TV, specifically announced the permanent establishment of an organized crime directorate in Crete.
Regarding Kimberly Guilfoyle, the government spokesperson stated: “She is an ambassador with an impressive resume, coming to stay and support the strategic relationship between Greece and the USA.”

Regarding the Greek postal service (ELTA), Mr. Marinakis commented: “This is another decision to save ELTA, to prevent it from closing” and added:
“90% of services are carried out at home, 92% of pensions are delivered at home, so home delivery is the way forward. They made a logical decision. But you can’t announce first and explain later. We will contribute, we won’t shirk responsibility. The decision is correct and will be implemented. But special cases will be examined. We’ll see where private sector collaboration is possible, to ensure that mail carriers reach every home. This service will be strengthened. There will be points that will replace the stores. But let it be clear that there is no backing down.”
Finally, referring to foreign policy and Greek-Turkish relations, he condemned those who engage in “cheap patriotism” as he characteristically emphasized.
