Vehicle owners whose cars are uninsured and/or have not paid their vehicle registration fees have been given a fifteen-day deadline for compliance as part of ongoing cross-reference checks. Uninsured vehicles and unpaid fees: 187,301 notifications issued
Specifically, a total of 187,301 notifications were sent out, including:
a) 99,498 notifications regarding non-payment of 2025 registration fees to 80,758 individuals and 4,452 legal entities, and
b) 87,803 notifications for insurance non-compliance to 71,663 individuals and 4,139 legal entities.
Of these, 87,026 vehicles were identified as non-compliant in both insurance and registration fee requirements.
As with the first round of notifications, the goal is to inform citizens about potential violations so they can comply within 15 days. After this period expires and following new cross-reference checks, citizens and legal entities who have not complied will receive notices with imposed fines.
Citizens and legal entity representatives are notified via SMS, email, or postal mail, depending on available contact information maintained in public registries. Specifically, citizens who have registered their contact details in the National Communications Registry (emep.gov.gr) will receive SMS and email from the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance, while others will be notified by email from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR). In rare cases where contact through these methods is not possible, notifications will be sent via postal mail.
How to view your notifications
Citizens can view notifications regarding their vehicles by visiting the oximata.gov.gr application using their personal taxisnet codes. Through this application, they can get detailed information about each vehicle’s non-compliance status and proceed with required actions. The inspections are implemented by the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance of the Ministry of Digital Governance, in collaboration with the Ministries of National Economy and Finance, Infrastructure and Transport, and Citizen Protection, along with the IAPR, under coordination by the Prime Minister’s Office. The process utilizes data from the Supplementary Insurance Fund for Liability from Car Accidents and Alternative Vehicle Management of Greece (EDOE).
