The investigation into the double murder of the 68-year-old camping site owner and 62-year-old manager in Finikounda, Messenia, continues as authorities work to identify the perpetrator, who reportedly fled toward Athens. According to sources, officers from the Homicide Division believe the suspect used secondary roads to escape the area and has been spotted in the capital through security camera footage. A team from Kalamata is already collaborating with Attica services to locate him.
Camping owner’s will is “key” to the case
The camping site owner had drafted his will just three days before being murdered. The document begins with the telling phrase: “I write my will in case of sudden death,” revealing his fears for his life.
In this will:
- He left the majority of his estate to his nephew, who was present and witnessed the double murder.
- He bequeathed to his manager and friend, who was killed alongside him, half of a field he co-owned with his nephew, as well as significant amounts of money in banks in Pylos.
- He also designated monetary amounts (€100,000 to his sister, €100,000 to her son, and €200,000 to his friend) in case his nephew decided to sell the property.
Authorities already have in their possession a previous, sealed will from the 68-year-old and believe that comparing the two documents could provide answers about the motive for the double murder.
