Meteorologists are warning of a dramatic weather change in their forecasts, with rain, storms and even snow expected as a new severe weather system approaches. The bad weather will begin Thursday and will bring snowfall in some areas. In his detailed weather forecast, meteorologist Georgios Tsatrafyllias warns of a “P-type storm system” that will last until at least Friday. The rapid weather deterioration will bring thunderstorms, strong winds and temperature drops of up to 8 degrees, along with snow. Theodoros Kolydas speaks of rain and storms due to the combination of a “cut-off low and cold air mass.”

Weather: Heavy rain and storms approaching – Kolydas’ forecast
Meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas, in his social media post about the weather outlook for the coming days, initially noted that “the upper low forming in the Adriatic is moving toward our region, causing heavy rain and thunderstorms.” “The phenomena will be widespread and tomorrow we will clarify which areas will be affected, as there are still some variations even today,” he continued. “In other words, tomorrow we will know if the Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese will be added or if the western and northern regions will remain with the most intense phenomena,” he concluded.
Tsatrafyllias forecasts rapid deterioration
Georgios Tsatrafyllias in his new social media post on Tuesday morning warns of rapid weather deterioration from Thursday, specifically referring to a “P-type storm system.” He then explains that this weather system will have extended across the entire country by Friday, bringing severe phenomena including thunderstorms, gale-force winds, and even snow. Additionally in his post, he emphasizes that temperatures will drop further, by up to 8 degrees.
“October will start with severe thunderstorms, gale-force winds, temperature drops and even snow. The weather deterioration will begin Thursday morning 2/10 from the west and will extend across the entire country through Friday 3/10,” Georgios Tsatrafyllias initially states in his post. “Specifically expected: Heavy rain and thunderstorms in most areas with phenomena being more intense and producing the highest rainfall amounts in western, northern Greece and the eastern Aegean (P-type weather pattern). Gale-force north and south winds in the Ionian and southern Aegean respectively. Temperature drops of up to 8 degrees in central and northern Greece,” he continues. “Light snowfall is not ruled out Friday morning in the mountains of northern Greece (indicative altitude 1500 meters). A little snow will also fall at the Kaimaktsalan ski resort!” he concludes.
Marousakis’ warning
Finally, Klearchos Marousakis, in his own post, explains that “more rain tomorrow toward central and northern areas, while Thursday-Friday we expect severe weather across almost the entire country.”
