Detailed statements by Kyriakos Pierrakakis on tax changes for young people
“Are you young up to 30 years old? Something is now changing for you, the tax rate up to 20,000 euros is zeroed. Let’s see more specifically. For income of 15,000 euros per year, the annual benefit is 1,280 euros or 106 euros per month which young people will see as increases in their accounts. Correspondingly, for income of 20,000 euros the annual benefit is 2,480 euros annually or 206 euros per month. We’re talking about approximately 2 extra salaries.
For young people 26 to 30 years old, the rate up to 20,000 euros goes to 9%, meaning annual benefit up to 1,300 euros, one additional salary per year. Today, 260,000 young people work and are simultaneously above the tax-free threshold, so these measures affect them directly. Of these 260,000 young people, 70,000 are under 25.
With this change we send a message: we want you to create, to work in Greece and we will be by your side so you can achieve it”.
