Fire inferno in Keratea: House surrenders to flames – “I almost got burned three times,” says owner
A fiery nightmare is unfolding in Keratea as a devastating wildfire rages from two different sources, with fire services waging a titanic battle against the flames to protect people and property.
Specifically, the SKAI camera captured the moment when a residence surrenders to the flames, which are currently impossible to tame due to extremely adverse weather conditions in the area, with gale-force winds.
It’s worth noting that the fire service reports winds of up to 8 Beaufort scale, and conditions are expected to worsen in the evening. The homeowner remains at the scene, having previously made a last-ditch effort with hoses and a basin of water to save his livelihood, without success.
As he explains, he was inside the house when the fire broke out and nearly got burned twice after becoming trapped. In fact, he was endangered for a third time while attempting to save a dog that was moving around the area.
Fire service sources told SKAI that there is a large perimeter of 4-5 kilometers, the fire is developing within the interior of this perimeter and is not extending beyond it, but within it there are numerous settlements, including Charvalo, Drosia, Manoutso, Synterina, Ari, Agiasma, Maliasteka, and Dimolaki.
