In a deeply emotional moment, Antonis Remos paid a heartfelt on-stage tribute to Giorgos Mazonakis during his landmark concert at the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki, held to mark 30 years of his artistic career.
Shortly after the concert began, and following the first song of the evening, Antonis Remos paused to dedicate a special moment to the memory of his late colleague.

He first invited the audience to applaud Thanasis Vasilas, the musician who, as he noted, had stood by Giorgos Mazonakis’s side, as well as his former conductor, Giannis Diskos. Visibly moved and with a voice that broke with emotion, Antonis Remos then spoke about Giorgos Mazonakis, asking the crowd to join him in a special musical dedication.
“A small moment, but filled with so much love — one that I want, not through our absence but through our presence, to send up to the sky for our George, a song. George, you left too soon,” he said. He then performed “Aniko se Mena” (“I Belong to Myself”), one of Giorgos Mazonakis’s best-known hits, with the crowd at the Thessaloniki waterfront singing along, visibly overcome with emotion.
