The doctor is at the Security headquarters, giving his statement as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death — and, crucially, to determine whether his actions put the singer’s life at risk.

According to reports, the doctor allegedly claimed during his questioning that it was not he who performed the plasmapheresis on Giorgos Mazonakis, but rather his wife. He reportedly stated that his wife had taken on responsibility for monitoring the singer and was the one who administered the relevant treatments. The doctor’s wife has also appeared at the Athens Security Directorate to give her own statement to authorities and provide her version of events regarding the monitoring and treatment of Giorgos Mazonakis.
Giorgos Mazonakis: Cardiac arrest occurred the moment the IV catheter was inserted
According to initial reports, the singer had visited the private clinic in central Athens for a scheduled plasmapheresis treatment. However, the moment the intravenous catheter was inserted, he suffered a cardiac arrest. Emergency services were called immediately. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him with CPR both at the scene and during the ambulance transfer. By the time he arrived at “Elpis” Hospital, he was already in critical condition, and despite the extraordinary efforts of the medical staff, they were unable to save his life.
