An emergency was declared today (16/8) at the beach of Agia Triada, where paramedics and a physician from Thessaloniki’s EKAB (National Emergency Medical Service) responded to two cardiac arrest incidents caused by drowning — involving an 18-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman. According to the EKAB Thessaloniki Workers’ Union, the paramedics and the EKAB physician responded to cardiac arrest cases resulting from the drowning of an 18-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman at the Agia Triada beach.
The immediate intervention and application of international Advanced Life Support protocols — including CPR, defibrillation, airway management through intubation, and the administration of appropriate medication — led to the successful restoration of spontaneous circulation. Once stabilized, both patients were safely transported to the on-call hospital for further treatment, according to thestival.gr.
Two conventional ambulances and one Mobile Medical Unit were deployed at the scene, with a total of 6 paramedics and 1 EKAB physician responding to the incident.
