At least three people were injured in the strike. Of the 600 drones detected heading toward the Moscow area, 201 were shot down in the region surrounding the capital. Russia strikes Kyiv overnight, injuring three people
Russian forces in turn launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv in the early morning hours, sparking fires in at least two districts of the Ukrainian capital, said Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The city’s military administration reported that three people were injured. Klitschko stated via Telegram that burning debris caused a fire in an uninhabited area of a northern suburb. Cars were engulfed in flames, and another fire broke out in an area just south of the city center, he said.
Eyewitnesses cited by Reuters reported hearing explosions across the city. Tymur Tkachenko, governor of the Kyiv region, said three more people — including a child — were injured as a result of drone attacks on the region. An air raid alert was declared twice after 2:00 a.m. local time, lasting approximately one hour each time. Russia has been launching intense aerial attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities in recent weeks.
