Liana Kanelli launched a scathing attack against Alexis Tsipras during a television interview on June 22, branding the former prime minister as someone who failed the test and is now asking for a second chance.

Speaking on Action 24, Ms. Kanelli opened by pointing out that “the reversal of the 2015 referendum — which is a top-tier democratic institution — notice how all the political nonsense in the public debate revolves around the rule of law. I’d like to know who dares to talk about the rule of law when a referendum, which happens extremely rarely and had only previously been called by the king and the junta, was overturned overnight.”
Kanelli on Tsipras: “He wants a second chance”
“A child born in 2015 is 11 years old today; a child born in 2010 now has the right to vote. What would a five-year-old remember about the 2015 referendum? Tsipras wants a second chance,” the Communist Party MP stated, before adding: “Pay attention to when all this is being said — on the eve of university entrance exams, alongside a constitutional revision pushing for private universities, and alongside advertisements telling students ‘it’s okay if you don’t get into university, come to this private college. Give yourself a second chance in life.’ Tsipras is also hearing about second chances — it’s fine, like a teenager who failed his university entrance exams once, we should give him a pass to try again.”
Finally, Liana Kanelli remarked that “this is criminal as a framework of political thinking directed at our children,” adding that young people “must think based on their own needs.”
