Turkish claims have absolutely no legal basis, according to a statement issued today (29/8) by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “The repetition of the same unfounded and unacceptable claim, every time Greece announces a new Special Spatial Planning Framework, does not grant it any legal basis or any substance whatsoever. Greece’s position regarding the sovereignty status in the Aegean is absolutely clear, is based on the applicable International Treaties, and is not open to further commentary,” stated the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, sending a firm message to Ankara regarding the Spatial Planning Framework.
