There is particular satisfaction at Amalias for the findings of the Opinion Poll survey presented on Action24’s main news bulletin, as the “party of Tsipras” shows an upward trend in potential voting intention.
According to data from the research, the new political venture – which has not yet been officially announced – shows a 4.3% increase. Specifically, 19.1% say they are very or quite likely to vote for the “Tsipras party” compared to 14.8% in the previous measurement. In detail, 7.7% answer that they are very likely to vote for it (from 7%), 11.4% quite likely (from 7.8%), 11.5% slightly likely (from 10.5%) and 65.9% not at all (from 71.4%).
Of particular interest are the responses about the most suitable prime minister, as in spontaneous answers Alexis Tsipras takes second place. Specifically, 28.9% choose Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras is at 9.9%, ahead of Kyriakos Velopoulos (6%), while Zoe Konstantopoulou and Nikos Androulakis are both at 5.8%. The answer “None” recorded a percentage of 23.4%.
Satisfaction with poll findings: “They’re measuring Tsipras’s shadow” say associates
Officials close to the former prime minister note that these findings have particular significance given that Alexis Tsipras has not yet revealed his cards nor presented his new party and associates. As they are accustomed to saying at Amalias, the polls so far capture his “shadow.” The real impact, they estimate, will be seen when the new political entity is officially announced and public interventions begin.
Leadership team announcement postponed
Meanwhile, in the coming period, besides Theoni Koufonikola – who has taken on the burden of the Institute’s communication and is reportedly destined for the position of press spokesperson – Evgenia Fotoniata is also expected to play a role.
The presentation of the people who will form the first leadership team of Tsipras’s party appears to be postponed, although it’s not ruled out that announcements may be made gradually, by groups.
At the same time, the former prime minister is conducting private contacts with officials who are considering the possibility of joining the new venture. Regarding Charis Kastanidis, who left PASOK, sources report that so far there has been no contact. Many, however, believe that given the mutual respect between the two sides, their cooperation in the coming period cannot be ruled out.
