According to Financial Times reports, a drone struck a pumping station on Saudi Arabia’s key east-west oil pipeline, which transports crude oil from the Gulf to the Red Sea. This pipeline carries 7 million barrels of crude oil daily from the Gulf to the Red Sea, at a time when oil prices are falling following the agreement between the US and Iran for a ceasefire and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. The pipeline was reportedly hit by a drone and the damage is currently being assessed. It should be noted that before the ceasefire agreement, Iran had threatened to strike this specific pipeline if the US attacked Iranian power generation facilities.
