“I place myself, without any reservation, at the disposal of every competent Authority in order to fully investigate the case that concerns me in the second case file for OPEKEPE,” states Foteini Arampatzi in her post, following developments in the case.
“I actually ask my colleagues to vote for the establishment of a preliminary committee so that it can be proven that the accusations against me are completely unfounded and unjust,” she adds.
It is noted that according to information from parapolitika.gr, based on the transmittal of the case file that was formed by the European prosecutor’s office and sent to Parliament for former Deputy Minister of Agricultural Development Foteini Arampatzi, it is emphasized that in a conversation she had on August 26, 2021 with the then president of the agricultural subsidies organization Dimitris Melas, reference is made to three livestock farmers from Angista Serres, who were about to be inspected by OPEKEPE in September 2021. Although the livestock farmers had already passed inspection in 2020, Mrs. Arampatzi appears to ask Dimitris Melas: “What can we do about this?”. The then president of OPEKEPE seems to reply that it would be obvious not to conduct an inspection by OPEKEPE, since this has already been decided, but if it is useful, he can delay it for a bit. At that moment Mrs. Arampatzi agrees with him and asks that there be no strict treatment during the administrative inspection. Subsequently, the then president of OPEKEPE informs that he will come into contact with the Regional Directorate of OPEKEPE Thessaloniki.

Foteini Arampatzi on OPEKEPE: “The truth will shine!”
Specifically, her post reads as follows: “I have not committed the slightest act against the public interest and European Union funds.
During my tenure at the Ministry of Agricultural Development I acted with respect for legality, without causing the slightest damage either to the Greek State or to Community resources.
That is why I have nothing to fear and nothing to hide.
I will continue to defend the real interests of farmers and livestock breeders of Serres and the entire country.
The truth will shine!”
