The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, together with EU foreign ministers, arrived today (31/3) in Kyiv to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Bucha massacre and express their support for Ukraine. Specifically, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed Kallas and the foreign ministers at Kyiv’s central railway station, noting that the EU is demonstrating that justice for Russian atrocities is inevitable.

Ukraine: Kallas and foreign ministers visit Bucha
Kallas visited the town of Bucha, where Ukrainians report that Russian troops killed more than 400 people. “Bucha has come to symbolize the cruelty of Russia’s war,” Kallas said on social media. “The EU is committed to ensuring that these crimes do not go unpunished… Russia must be held accountable for what it did to Ukraine,” she emphasized.
Officials lit candles at the memorial to the massacre victims and visited a church that houses an exhibition of photographs and videos. Moscow, however, denies committing atrocities in Bucha. The UN has verified that 15,364 civilians have been killed since Russia invaded Ukraine.
Bucha has come to symbolise the cruelty of Russia’s war.
Of the civilians killed, many were shot at close range. Some with their hands tied behind their backs.
Four years after these mass killings, we remember the victims.
What happened here cannot be denied.

Kallas: Europe will stand by Ukraine’s side
“Every visit reminds us of Ukraine’s courage and resilience,” wrote Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. “Europe stands by your side. We will continue to provide military, financial, energy and humanitarian support,” she added.
