Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his TikTok post announces the new preventive screening program for kidney dysfunction, targeting 1.5 million citizens, emphasizing the importance of prevention and the results of the national “Prolamvano” program. As the Prime Minister notes, to date 5.1 million citizens have already undergone preventive screenings through “Prolamvano,” the first comprehensive national prevention program implemented in the country. The program’s goal is the early detection of the most widespread chronic diseases before they develop into serious health problems.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Data from the 5 prevention programs
The data presented by Mr. Mitsotakis demonstrates the program’s impact: to date, 950,000 mammograms have been performed, 700,000 gynecological examinations, over 900,000 colorectal cancer screenings, 2.5 million heart examinations, while more than 4,000 citizens have received free medical care for obesity treatment.
“We’re talking about five prevention programs with one clear result: lives that are saved,” he characteristically emphasizes, adding that the effort doesn’t stop here.
Already, as he announces, the new prevention program for kidney dysfunction has begun, targeting 1.5 million citizens and further strengthening the network of free preventive screenings.
The Prime Minister reminds that all examinations are provided free of charge, both to insured and uninsured citizens. Through the proliptikes.gov.gr platform, interested parties can select their desired examinations and receive detailed information about the next steps.
“Prevention saves lives and every life counts,” he concludes in his message.
