A Dutch YouTuber decided to test the limits of the human body and endurance by traveling to the coldest city on the planet, Yakutsk in Siberia. In a place where winter temperatures regularly drop below -58°F (-50°C), the young influencer dove into freezing water, recording every moment in a video he posted on TikTok and YouTube.
@frankvd_yt Ik ben nog steeds levend🤣🇷🇺
In the shocking video, he can be seen entering the water while the outside temperature reaches -52°F (-46°C). Getting out of the water proves extremely difficult as his body begins to freeze almost immediately. His movements become slow and clumsy as he struggles to stand upright and protect himself from the extreme cold.

Wir selber waren noch nie dort, aber wir vermuten schwer, dass dort nicht mit Wärmepumpen geheizt wird. pic.twitter.com/iUAw7mwEIP

Yakutsk and extreme temperatures
Yakutsk is considered the coldest city in the world. Located in Siberia, it’s known for its extreme temperatures that often reach or exceed -58°F (-50°C). Historical records show temperatures as low as -96°F (-71°C), making it a symbol of extreme weather conditions.
In the video, the Dutch YouTuber struggles with help from others to put on his slippers. His hands appear unresponsive while his face shows the intensity and pain caused by the unbearable cold. Every movement requires enormous effort as the frost “bites” his skin within seconds.
Body freezes before entering low-temperature indoor space
Before he can reach a warm indoor space, his body begins to visibly freeze. He appears to be at his limits, but eventually manages to put on a hat and run for protection from the cold. The video concludes with him quickly moving away, trying to warm himself up.
The Dutch YouTuber stated that he attempted to stay in Yakutsk for four days, aiming to document daily life and living conditions in the city while creating content for his YouTube channel. The video sparked intense reactions, with many calling it an extremely dangerous stunt.
