As new reports reveal the contents of a letter his former wife sent to British authorities, Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, finds himself at the center of an investigation involving extremely serious allegations. Meanwhile, authorities in the Philippines and Thailand are reportedly investigating claims of possible possession of child sexual abuse material.
The case surrounding Meghan Markle’s father has taken on new dimensions following the public disclosure of allegations made in 2019 by his former wife, Roslyn Loveless. In her letter, she describes a conversation during which Thomas Markle allegedly made a disturbing reference to sexual relations with 12-year-old children. Roslyn Loveless, who was married to Thomas Markle from 1965 to 1975 and passed away in 2024, had sent a seven-page letter in 2019 to a specialist unit within Scotland Yard.
According to the British newspaper The Sun, the letter was addressed to the Threat Assessment Centre, which deals with, among other things, risks concerning the British royal family.
The most serious element of the letter is the account of what her former husband allegedly told her when she confronted him about child sexual abuse allegations. “I asked Thomas Markle, he denied the accusation [of child sexual abuse], but stated that he went to the Philippines and Thailand because sexual relations with 12-year-old children are legal there.”
This statement represents an allegation made by his former wife. It has not been established that Markle actually made this statement or that he committed any of the offenses currently under investigation.
Thomas Markle: what was allegedly found at his home in the Philippines
These new revelations come as reports indicate that authorities in the Philippines and Thailand are examining digital images allegedly connected to Thomas Markle.
The material is alleged to have been found at his former residence in the city of Cebu in the Philippines.
The allegation was made by his son, Thomas Markle Jr., who reportedly informed authorities in both countries that he had discovered images of child sexual abuse at his father’s home.
The nature and origin of the material remain under investigation.
The damning statement from the Philippines
Particularly striking are the statements attributed to the Philippine Secretary of the Interior.
According to The Guardian, the minister indicated that the evidence leads to the conclusion that Thomas Markle is a “probable perpetrator of the worst kind of sexual offenses.”
This represents an exceptionally serious assessment from a senior official, while the relevant authorities continue their investigation.
To date, no court ruling establishing his guilt has been made public.
Meghan Markle’s letter to her father
Meanwhile, new reports also address the position Meghan Markle has reportedly taken toward her father.
According to the Sun on Sunday, Prince Harry’s wife has cut off all communication with him since 2025.
The newspaper claims that Meghan sent him a letter informing him that she no longer wishes to have any contact with him.
According to the same reports, she made it clear that he would never be able to see her two children, Archie and Lilibet, again.
The letter is said to have been sent while Thomas Markle was hospitalized in the Philippines, having undergone the amputation of one of his legs.
“Sick lies,” Thomas Markle responds
Meghan Markle’s father categorically denies the allegations.
In statements to the Daily Mail, he insisted that he was not in possession of any child sexual abuse images and described the accusations against him as “sick lies.”
The investigation continues, with authorities tasked with determining exactly what the reported material contains, where it originated, and whether any criminal liability arises.
The case remains open, and the serious allegations against Thomas Markle do not constitute proof of guilt.
