Shocking videos have flooded the internet showing Houthi members on the ground following a serious escalation recorded over recent days in Yemen. Several of the videos show soldiers, reportedly allied with the Yemeni government, driving armored vehicles over bodies — and over both armed and unarmed men — as part of a counteroffensive against the Yemeni rebels.
Yemen: Armored vehicle runs over men as crew shouts “Allahu Akbar”
One of the videos shows the driver of an armored vehicle maneuvering through a crowd of men, some of whom are armed with rifles while others have clearly raised their hands in surrender. The driver deliberately steers the vehicle toward two men with their hands raised and runs them down. The driver and his companion then shout “Allahu Akbar” as the vehicle rolls over several men lying along the side of the road — some motionless, others still moving their legs.

The camera’s movements capture the impacts and jolts of the vehicle as it passes over the bodies. At the beginning of the video, the characteristic sound of small arms fire can be heard, though it is not clear from which side the shots are coming. A second video appears to show a man on the ground aiming a rifle at the vehicle as it approaches him, with gunfire audible in the background.
Fierce battles along the Red Sea coast
Forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, backed by Saudi Arabia, have launched a major military counteroffensive against the Houthis in an effort to recapture territory that the group seized last month along the Red Sea coast.
According to the latest reports, the new operation carries particular strategic significance, as the Houthis had made a surprise southward advance around the strategically vital Bab al-Mandeb Strait — the waterway connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and one of the most critical shipping lanes for global trade.

These developments have not, however, been fully independently verified, and both sides are offering conflicting accounts of the situation on the ground.
Saudi Arabia is providing air support for the operation, and the renewed fighting has also triggered fresh cross-border hostilities. The Houthis claim to have carried out strikes against targets inside Saudi Arabia, while Saudi authorities announced that two airports — in Jizan and Najran — were attacked on October 5th, leaving three people wounded.
