The start of the meeting was confirmed through a video published on the Kremlin’s official channel on the MAX messaging platform. The footage captures President Putin greeting the two American officials inside the Kremlin, as discussions focus on the prospects of reaching an agreement to bring the armed conflict to an end.

The Russian president described the situation they are jointly tasked with addressing during the negotiations as “difficult,” according to the Russian state news agency RIA, as cited by the Athens News Agency. “The situation is, of course, not simple,” Putin told the American officials, according to video broadcast by Russian state media.
