A shocking murder has gripped Hawaii after a 63-year-old security guard was brutally killed at a beachfront resort in Maui. The suspect is a 20-year-old competitive swimmer who allegedly wandered the property naked on the night of the attack. According to authorities, security cameras captured Legend Storer — completely nude — making his way toward the resort’s security office at around 1:45 a.m.

Inside the office at the time was 63-year-old Dyer, who was on a break from his shift. Storer — a student and athlete at Concordia University Irvine in California — allegedly forced his way into the office and beat the guard to death, using, among other objects, a large water jug with a capacity of approximately five gallons.
“He was a wonderful man. He was just sitting in the office eating a cheeseburger on his break,” said a colleague of the victim, adding that Dyer was married and that his wife worked at a nearby restaurant.

After the attack, Storer allegedly left the property without being detected. About two hours later, police received calls about a naked man wandering through a nearby neighborhood. Residents reported hearing a man repeatedly shouting religious phrases.
“I am Jesus”
“I heard a man shouting: Jesus loves you. Jesus is me. I am Jesus. He kept repeating it over and over, maybe 15 times,” said a local resident. Officers located Storer with visible abrasions on his body and transported him to a hospital for evaluation.
A few hours later, at around 5:30 a.m., authorities discovered the 63-year-old security guard dead. Police say the connection between Storer and the killing was established after reviewing security camera footage from the resort.
The charges
Storer has been charged with second-degree murder, burglary with a dangerous instrument, and indecent exposure. He pleaded not guilty at his initial court appearance. The court denied bail, and the 20-year-old remains in custody at the Maui Community Correctional Center.
