Workers carrying out fiber optic installation works in Normandy made an unexpected discovery when they came face to face with dozens of World War II bombs. According to France 3 Normandie, the incident occurred in the Verson area, where workers uncovered a total of 75 bombs, each weighing approximately 250 kilograms. Local authorities clarified that the bombs are training devices made of concrete, containing no explosives and therefore posing no danger to local residents.

Despite the bombs being deemed non-hazardous, explosive ordnance disposal experts were called to the site to examine, identify, and classify them as a precautionary measure. The next step will be their preservation as historical artifacts. As announced by the local municipality, the bombs will be offered to museums in the region so they can be used to preserve historical memory.
