Keir Starmer was visibly emotional as he delivered his resignation address, announcing his departure as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The outgoing Prime Minister made a deeply personal statement, speaking about his wife, Victoria, and their children. He expressed particular gratitude to his wife, calling her his “rock.”
He said: “When I leave the most important office in the country, I shall spend more time on the most important job. Being the best husband I can to my fantastic wife Vic, who has been my rock through the good times and the bad.”




He continued, turning to the subject of his children and his role as a father: “And being the best dad I can to my beautiful children, who have been my pride and joy.”

With a cracking voice, Starmer also thanked “all those friends and colleagues who stood by my side over the last six years or so, for their incredible dedication, service, and support.” In a touching moment captured in the photos above, the couple embraced — a clear reflection of the emotion that filled the room.
It is worth noting that Keir and Victoria Starmer have been married since 2007 and have two children together: a son born in 2008 and a daughter born in 2010.
