Via a new post on his Truth Social platform, Donald Trump moved to push back against reports portraying the United States as having been effectively cornered into a deal with Iran — and himself as eager or even “desperate” to reach an agreement with Tehran. The U.S. president insisted it was Iran that was desperate, reiterated that the country is “finished,” and said Washington would wait out the 60-day period referenced in the Memorandum of Understanding before determining its next steps. He also weighed in on the now-infamous $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran, making clear that the country would not receive “a single dime” from Washington.
Trump: “They won’t get a dime, not ten cents!”
“We didn’t agree out of desperation — Iran did. They are FINISHED! We will wait for the 60 days to pass. They won’t get a dime, not ten cents!” the U.S. president wrote.

In a separate post, Trump went after Democratic lawmakers who have argued that Tehran came out of the deal with the U.S. as the winner — and in a stronger position than it was before the war.
“The war has devastated Iran!”
“The war has devastated Iran! They no longer have an Air Force, a Navy, air defense systems, radar, or almost anything else — and yet the ‘Dumocrats’ are saying Iran is better off now than it was four months ago. Can you imagine them getting away with something like that? How stupid can some people be?” he wrote pointedly.
