Ahead of the next round of negotiations expected to take place in Switzerland, the government of Qatar has described the agreement between the United States and Iran as a significant step toward further progress in diplomatic contacts. In an official statement, the emirate’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the agreement “represents a strong foundation for moving to the next stage of negotiations between the American and Iranian sides.”
Doha’s statement comes just hours before technical talks scheduled to take place tomorrow in Switzerland.
It is worth noting that Qatar has played a key mediation role in contacts between Washington and Tehran.
