A simple meeting turned into an absolute nightmare for a 17-year-old from Britain, who experienced horrific moments at the hands of four Afghans, who raped her repeatedly in November 2025. The “bait” for the minor was meeting a 21-year-old who contacted her via Snapchat and took her to a residence in Bristol, where the four men sexually abused her repeatedly.
Britain: The meeting with the 21-year-old and the taxi that picked her up
It all started when the 17-year-old was Christmas shopping with her friend at a Bristol shopping center, according to a Daily Record report. There she met 21-year-old Mehrab Safi, with whom she exchanged contact details. According to the prosecution, Safi began communicating with her through the Snapchat app and allegedly asked her for personal photos.
The 21-year-old was not alone
As stated in court, the minor eventually sent him nude photos of herself. Just two days later, in the early morning hours of November 30th, Safi allegedly arranged for a taxi that picked up the girl from her home in Somerset and transported her to an industrial area of Bristol.
There, she was met by Safi and 19-year-old Salman Habibkhill and they led her to a residence in the St. Werburgh’s area, according to the indictment.
According to Bristol Live, the court heard that while the minor was at the house, she was offered alcohol and cigarettes before allegedly suffering rape by Safi, as well as by his co-defendants, Awal Ahmadzai and Salman Habibkhill, both 19 years old, and another 16-year-old, all of whom originate from Afghanistan.
According to the report, prosecutor Ed Hetherington told the jury that the minor “was sexually abused by young men she barely knew and had only come into contact with just days before the events”.
As he reported, as soon as she arrived at the residence she was taken to Safi’s bedroom. He expressed his desire to have sexual contact, with the girl responding, according to the prosecution, that she did not want anything like that at that moment.
The first attack
Hetherington argued that Safi repeatedly asked her to remove her clothes, assuring her that they would not proceed with sexual activity. However, according to the indictment, the first attack followed.
The prosecution maintains that the 17-year-old was then led back to the ground floor of the residence, where the other defendants were located, and that additional rapes followed over a period of several hours. “She was alone, isolated, in an unknown city, miles away from her home, in the middle of the night, in a house full of men she didn’t know,” the prosecutor said, adding that the girl was under pressure and was constantly being offered alcohol and cigarettes.
According to evidence presented in court, the incident ended when the minor’s mother contacted police. Later, the 17-year-old gave a detailed statement to police about what she claimed happened. She reportedly told police that after the incidents she persistently asked to leave the house.
“I just wanted to return to my home. I didn’t feel safe. I just wanted to leave,” she said in her statement, according to what was heard in court.
They were captured on camera walking together
The jury was also informed that security cameras captured Safi and the 17-year-old walking together holding each other’s hands a few days before the incident. The prosecutor emphasized that there is no doubt that the girl believed she was visiting a new partner or a potential future partner.
After the police investigation began, authorities located the minor at the residence in the St. Werburgh’s area and arrested the 16-year-old defendant when he opened the door to police.
According to the prosecution, the three older defendants left the house before police arrived and subsequently traveled to Birmingham and London. Analysis of their mobile phones reportedly showed they were conducting internet searches for news related to the Bristol case, as well as matters concerning sexual relations with minors.
The perpetrators were arrested
Additionally, the prosecutor argued that their movements constitute evidence that they knew the seriousness of the allegations against them.
The court also heard that on December 3rd, the three men left the United Kingdom hidden in the back of a truck bound for France. However, they were spotted by French authorities in Calais around 9:00 PM the same day and immediately returned to Britain under a cooperation agreement between the two countries.
By the early morning hours of December 4th, they had been handed back to British authorities and arrested. The prosecution noted that the three men carried no travel documents or identification papers and had given false identity details to French authorities.
Additionally, the court was shown video recovered from Safi’s mobile phone, in which the three defendants appear in the back of the truck during the journey to France.
According to the prosecutor, the video shows the defendants laughing and making gestures toward the camera, which, he argued, shows they believed they had escaped the consequences of their actions.
