Many Americans are blaming US President Donald Trump for rising fuel prices. This development negatively affects Republicans ahead of the November midterm elections, according to an Ipsos poll conducted for the international news agency Reuters. The poll was conducted on a sample of 4,557 American adults in the US, including 3,577 registered voters.
Americans blame Trump for fuel prices
Approximately 77% of registered voters who responded to the poll stated that Trump bears at least considerable responsibility for the increase in fuel prices due to the war in the Middle East. Other Americans share the same view, with 55% of Republican voters, 82% of independents, and 95% of Democrats placing blame on Trump. Additionally, 58% responded that in the November midterm elections they would be less likely to support candidates who agree with Trump regarding hostilities with Iran.
Prices one dollar higher
It should be noted that fuel prices in the US have increased to approximately $4 per gallon, one dollar higher compared to before the war began. About 77% of Americans are concerned about rising fuel prices, according to the Ipsos poll for Reuters, with many more expecting further increases in fuel prices.
