Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced a new government commitment to raise the minimum wage to €1,000 by January 2028, making the pledge from the podium of the Thessaloniki International Fair.
“In 2023, our central commitment was to bring the minimum wage to €950 by 2027. Our commitment now is to go beyond €950 and reach €1,000 by January 2028,” he stressed. At the same time, he announced a further reduction of half a percentage point in social security contributions for private sector workers.
