Annita Demetriou: The cable is the infrastructure that creates new energy opportunities for Cyprus and Greece
As she emphasizes, this is a project of strategic importance, one that is directly linked to energy security, ending Cyprus’s energy isolation, and enhancing the geopolitical and energy role of both countries in the region.
The President of the Cyprus Parliament specifically referenced the Great Sea Interconnector, stressing that it represents the infrastructure that unlocks new energy opportunities for Cyprus and Greece — as well as for the European Union itself across the broader region.
“This is the critical message we must hold on to,” Annita Demetriou concluded in her post.
