A poll circulating in Evros is shaking up the political landscape, painting a picture with a clear frontrunner but intense behind-the-scenes battles in individual races, according to the Secret column of the Parapolitika newspaper. In voting intention, New Democracy remains at the top with 32.8%, though the gap from its rivals is not wide enough to conceal the political dynamics currently at play. EL.A.S. (Greek Left Alliance) is recorded at 15.5%, “Elpida” at 13.8%, Greek Solution at 11%, PASOK at 10.2%, and the Communist Party (KKE) at 4.1%.

The real interest, however, lies in the individual candidates. Within New Democracy, Christos Dermentzópoulos appears with a razor-thin popularity lead at 67%, edging out Tasos Dimoschakis at 66%. A true chest-to-chest battle, signaling that in Evros, personal influence still carries as much weight as party affiliation.
On the EL.A.S. side, Katerina Berdou tops the preferences of voters in that political space with 54%, suggesting that internal balances have yet to be firmly established.
Even more revealing is the citizens’ agenda: the cost of living tops the list at 29%, followed by unemployment at 13% and demographic decline at 10%. The refugee/migration issue and citizens’ economic situation trail further behind, each at 5%.
