Greek Left Alliance: Goal to create organizations nationwide during the summer
At this specific moment, they are seeking at the local level the individuals who will constitute the communication channel between the party and citizens who want to align with ELAS. “We are working very hard so that what you see now will not simply increase and scale up, but transform into realistic, beneficial governance,” Theoni Koufonikola said in an interview and added: “We are open to every democratic and progressive citizen without any exclusion, whoever wishes can become a member of the Alliance. Beyond that, every support is welcome, but there are no guaranteed privileges or reserved positions at all.”
The response regarding SYRIZA and cooperation scenarios
Referring to what happened at SYRIZA’s Central Committee and the possibility of cooperation, she responded that “the collective decisions of parties are absolutely respected, we do not intervene from a position of principle and do not comment on their collective processes.”
She emphasized that the candidacies in the next elections will be determined collectively and that “at this moment there is no candidate but only equal members. We have made clear in every way that we will not have MP members from the current Parliament.”
