“My dream is to come to a debate with Kyriakos Mitsotakis,” stated Maria Karystianou, president of “Hope for Democracy,” speaking to ANT1. She clarified that she wants to pose questions not only as a political leader, but also as a citizen.

Maria Karystianou: “I want to ask him how much the Maximos costs”
“My dream is to come to a debate with Kyriakos Mitsotakis,” she characteristically stated, clarifying that she wants to pose questions not only as a political leader but also as a citizen. “I want to ask him many things. I want to ask him about public finances. I want to ask him how much the Maximos costs each month and how much the life of politicians costs,” said Maria Karystianou.
The leader of “Hope for Democracy” also criticized foreign policy issues, making pointed remarks about the government’s stance towards Russia and Turkey. She spoke of erroneous handling and a stance that, according to her, does not correspond to national interests. “And I will ask him about national issues,” she said, while connecting her criticism to the course of the economy and production. “Why isn’t the primary sector developing? Why don’t we see the development as they present it to us?” she wondered.
She also made reference to the Tempe railway tragedy. “Tempe unfortunately had many mothers. Many became orphaned that night,” she noted. At the same time, she presented the new political venture as a space for expressing social discontent. “The Hope movement appeals to all those who see promises without substance,” she noted, addressing a call to citizens who have been disappointed by the current political system.
