The party of Maria Karystianou, “HOPE for Democracy,” launched a fierce attack on Alexis Tsipras through an official statement, following his remarks during the police presentation on Tuesday evening (26/5). Among other things, the statement speaks of “provocative irony, generalizations and no substance,” noting that “he thinks we eat grass or have goldfish memory.” Maria Karystianou also made a social media post, publishing her party’s statement along with a video.
Karystianou on Tsipras: “Does he think we eat grass or have goldfish memory?”
The statement from Maria Karystianou’s party further emphasizes that “his supposed commitment to life with dignity, shield against high prices and strength in employment is PROVOCATIVE, when it comes from the mouth of the politician who brought us the 3rd memorandum and mortgaged our future, turning the Greek people’s NO into YES.”
The statement from Maria Karystianou’s party on Alexis Tsipras
“Provocative irony, generalizations and no substance in Mr. Tsipras’s announcements.
The introduction was deplorable and equated political parties with consumable goods, as we reached the point of hearing that more are produced than citizens can consume.
And all this while political parties are a pillar that serves Democracy.
The continuation was equally disappointing:
His supposed commitment to life with dignity, shield against high prices and strength in employment is PROVOCATIVE, when it comes from the mouth of the politician who brought us the 3rd memorandum and mortgaged our future, turning the Greek people’s NO into YES.
His reference to a strong democracy without immunities is PROVOCATIVE, when articulated by a former prime minister who not only did nothing to abolish Article 86 of the Constitution, but also did not support as an MP the struggles of our President, Maria Karystianou, for the removal of political immunity, contributing to the impunity of New Democracy minister K. Karamanlis, as well as his own Ch. Spirtzis, both criminally liable for Contract 717, which if it had been executed, the Tempe crime would have been avoided.
Also, the announcement of a supposedly strong economy and rules for banks is PROVOCATIVE, since A. Tsipras’s government was the one that opened the way for funds, which bought out Greeks’ loans under non-transparent terms, followed by the loss of their property.
Mr. Tsipras thinks we eat grass or have goldfish memory.”
